Training Requirements

As part of our HCPC requirement the AJ Case Managers must continue to develop their skills and knowledge base.
This is not only a commitment we make to our governing bodies but also to our clients.

You can expect to see our team attending various training events throughout the year and this is in addition to their regular supervision and team meetings with in-house training.
We strive to ensure that we are the best we can be and are up to date with the constant new developments in the field of brain injury and spinal cord injury.
We know that at AJCM Ltd we are developing case managers who have the skills, knowledge and the support to help you in your greatest time of need.
We also impart this knowledge wherever possible and provide regular bespoke training to our support teams, clients, families and other professionals.
Some examples of recent training sessions that we have provided include:

Manual Handling and specialist risk assessments

Claire Eveson is our experienced Moving and Handling Advisor. Claire continues to work as part of the local NHS team and comes with a wealth of clinical and training experience.
Claire provides statutory training to our support teams and also provides bespoke assessment and risk assessment for clients with more complicated manual handling needs.

A multidisciplinary approach to on-going community based rehabilitation and the interface with case management

This course is aimed at therapists and CMs working as part of a multidisciplinary team. This is an interactive course to establish “best practice” within MDT teams.

Specialist Therapeutic Training

We can offer our clients and support team specialist training to meet our clients’ needs to include:
Communication and communication aids
Management of swallowing difficulties and modified diets
Supporting client with planning and organising difficulties
Risk taking and risk assessing

Support workers’ training and development

We aim to ensure that the support staff recruited for our clients can support them in all aspects of their lives.
We are committed to supporting and training our teams to ensure that they maximise our clients’ abilities.
This support includes comprehensive support and risk assessment plans, regular supervision and training courses.

‘AJ Case Management accepts The Health and Safety Groups ‘Skills for Health’ CSTF Mandatory + Statutory Training and ‘All in One Day’ Mandatory Training, and can confirm it meets our mandatory training needs. “Acquired Brain Injury and the Role of the Support Worker”

 This training has been provided to many support workers and teams and is offered bespoke to address clients’ specific needs.

“The role of the Case Manager in the litigation process”

This training is of value to new AJCM team members, therapists and other professionals to help them understand our role within the litigation process.

We can provide bespoke training to help clients, families, support workers, therapists and solicitors working in the field of brain injury.

“Behaviours that Challenge your Service”

 This training has been provided to therapists, support workers, Case Managers and Court of Protection staff. It is of value to front line staff who are dealing with clients who have complex needs such as persistent calling to request funds from their Deputy.
