Support Worker – Equestrian / Wolverhampton - Permanent – 6 hours per week

An opportunity has arisen to become a support worker for a 16 year old girl, who suffered a brain injury in 2012. Our client has no physical difficulties and this role is about increasing her confidence, by supporting her socially and providing support with the care of her horses and riding.

8 hours are available term time, mixture of weekday/early evening/weekends, and 20 hours during college holidays

Support Worker – Marbury - Permanent – 6 hours per week

Ref: AJCMLAJ/EM/1117

Support Worker needed to support a 12 year old girl, with a brain injury, to engage in educational activities – assisting with homework, supporting new experiences and maximising opportunities to develop new or existing skills.

Rota is flexible and could be 2 x 3 hours per week, after school, or 3 x 2 hour shifts.

Hours would remain the same during the school holidays, but may be used during the day time.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

  • A passion for education, the role would ideally suit a graduate in a relevant subject or an experienced teaching assistant
  • Previous experience in a similar role or demonstrate a willingness to learn
  • Patience and the ability to motivate and enable through support
  • A full driving licence and access to own vehicle
  • Excellent computer, verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills
  • A flexible and positive attitude
  • A caring disposition and sense of humour

  • Ability to work flexibly as part of a team, on a rota
  • A full driving licence and access to a vehicle

  • A caring and friendly disposition and a sense of humour
  • The ability to motivate and enable the client and to apply strategies as advised by therapists
  • An understanding of the impact of mental health issues
