Gemma Sheen – Registered Nurse & Expert Witness

AJ Case Management are excited to welcome a new Case Manager, Gemma Sheen, to the company. She will be working out of our West Midlands office, covering Birmingham to Stoke and into Wales.
Gemma is a Registered Nurse and Expert Witness, experienced in complex care settings within both community and hospital environments. She has invaluable experience working with clients who have complex long-term conditions, including traumatic brain injury, hypoxic brain injury, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease and complex respiratory management.
In her role as case manager, Gemma works to ensure her clients receive effective rehabilitation and support to achieve their health, care and social goals. Lets hand over to Gemma to find out more:
“Prior to becoming a Case Manager, I worked for a nursing and care agency as a clinical lead where I was responsible for setting up and maintaining packages of care, concentrating mostly on the clinical needs of the client. I trained and helped care staff to support adults and children with complex needs to live in the community.
I also work as an expert witness where I am instructed by solicitors to write a report for the courts. I have written reports for both claimant and defence.
I love working closely with my clients, assessing their needs and with their input developing a plan of action for their immediate and long-term needs. It’s all about offering them support for as long as they require it.
I want to be able to make a difference to people’s lives, and to treat them with the respect they deserve. Being open and honest with my clients and their family is paramount.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and our Jack Russell Terrier. They keep me very busy! When I am not enjoying family time I like to spend my time crafting. I do various crafts but mostly paper crafts.”
